Tamiya Eurocup 2001 - Driver Set Ups

Up

Rob Chaldecott's set up for his GT car is below. This gave him the A Final win in the F1/GT class at the WLRC track.

TRF wide chassis

New front end (if still suffering from understeer go to the old front) I used the old front at West London

Toyota GT1 shell

Minimum rear downforce set up on adjustable wing

Soft rear T bar; Rear T bar stiff (only for the experienced F1 driver)

Hop up aluminium shock with silver spring; For other tracks use black front springs if the car is oversteering - it reduces the bite on the front end; gold springs give a bit more turn in than black. Silver springs if the car is suffering badly from understeer, which is why I used silver springs at West London.

Low friction damper pads

Aluminium motor mount

Carbon rear axle

Fine mesh gears (gearing varies for each circuit ) 23T at West London

Titanium screws all round

Infinity 2400 cells; LRP V7.1; KO mini fast servo

Type A tyres for cool track surfaces (used at West London)

Type B tyres for hot track surfaces

Additive (3 various choices)

Tweek 2000:- good overall grip but lacks consistency through a five minute run

Orion Speed Juice:- Very good all round grip and lasts for the entire race distance. Seems best on high grip tracks

Corally Jack the Gripper:- Very good overall grip, has excellent consistency and lasts well over the race distance.
